January 2018- Students!!
Here at W Hall, we are very happy to offer opportunities for both work experience students, and students who need an apprenticeship/placement whilst they learn. Having an apprenticeship with W Hall means students can work and learn, and we allow flexibility as we know many still need to attend classes whilst working.
Back in 2015, we had Adam, from Carrickfergus Grammar School, in for work experience for one week. During his week here, Adam worked alongside Andrew to learn how to fully refurbish a pallet truck. Adam had spoken about how much he enjoyed his experience with us at W Hall, and after impressing everyone, he was invited back in 2016. Once finishing school, he was keen to pursue a career in engineering, therefore he began a course at Belfast Metropolitan College, studying Level 3 Manufacturing and Engineering. This course is three days per week, which allows for him to work here the remaining two days!
We also recently welcomed Chris Topping to W Hall. Chris completed a HND in Manufacturing at South East Regional College, before joining us on a full-time basis in September. Chris started by assembling new pallet trucks, and quickly picked up how to service and repair them in the workshop. He has now started accompanying our engineers out to service calls, with our long-term plan seeing Chris as a mobile engineer who will cover Ards and North Down, as he in from Bangor.
If you, or someone you know, finds yourself interested in a career in engineering, then please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you!
